Since I’m going to the US in a few days I had to shovel some snow from the roof – if it’s get warmer we get more moisture in the air which means that the snow is going to get heavier. And if there is a lot of snow the roof could cave in due to the weight (something that has happened several times this winter – not our roof though ).
Because of this I got up a bit earlier today and started to shovel snow, after an hour or so I came to the part of the roof where the snow was the deepest. Here it was something like 160-170 cm of snow – I don’t think I’ve seen more snow on the roof in the 12 years I lived in Umeå. Nice.
There are some problems getting up on the roof, before you can actually get up on the roof you have to shovel away some snow. Getting down is much easier – you just walk down. Guess what the really difficult part is
I spent most of friday, saturday and sunday at a jutsu training camp here in Umeå … together with a few hundred others. Since I’m a member of the club who organize the whole event it means a lot of extra work for us. All in all it was a nice weekend that mixed Ju-Jutsu Kai, Brazilian Ju-Jutsu, Aikido and Iaido in a very nice way.
Yesterday I was a bit disappointed because it looked like everybody else except us were getting snow – I really dislike dark wet autumns/winters (and it can’t be winter without snow) – so it was a really nice surprise this morning when there was a very thin layer of snow outside.
It’s not much but I do appreciate that Mother Natures tried to comfort me in some way.
There was a deadly accident at home. Early in the morning we could here a thud coming from the living room … but since it was so early we didn’t bother to get up.
A few hours later we could see that there had been a deadly accident.
Apparently the bird had crashed into one of the windows, so hard that it died.
Summer is now officially over, at least here in Yttersjö. Today was the day when we pulled up the bridge from the lake. This may sound like a simple task … and it would probably have been so if it hadn’t been for those pipes.
You see, they have used a sledgehammer to drive those pipes into the sand/clay/mud at the bottom of the lake and now we need to try to get them loose again. And this, my friends, is not something that is easily done.
Anyway, after some work we finally managed to get them loose again. After that we divided the bridge into sections and lifted it onto the beach.
Losing your eye sight isn’t a fun experience but it happened to me a couple a days ago. It only took about 20 minutes to go from full vision to very limited vision. Here is the story.
