In about 24h I’ll be starting my trip … and I haven’t even started to think about what and how to pack. I’m not very fond of traveling with a lot of stuff and usually try to go as light as possible, unfortunately I also need to have certain things with me.
The first week will be work related so I need some kind of computer, but I don’t really need a full laptop which is good since it’s too heavy to carry around for two weeks. So I’ll take my iPad, my experiences from a few earlier iPad-only trips have been positive so I think I’ll be just fine with the iPad.
For the second week I need my Gi (although not for Karate) … actually I need two of them plus all the other stuff + towels, bed linen (including air mattress), etc, etc. This is not something I want to carry around when I’m in Dublin. Fortunately enough I’ll be able to send most of this with some other people from the club who are going to the same event.
And then we come to the biggest problem: what kind of camera equipment should I bring with me. There is no idea to bring everything, but what lenses should I pack? Flash? Right now (I might change my mind in 24h!!) my idea is to pack a 16-50mm and a 70-300mm. I know that I’m not going to use the 70-300mm in the second week but it might come in handy in Ireland. The 16-50mm is a no-brainer but I think need some longer lens also. Flash? Yep, I think I’ll need it.
Well, in 24h it’s too late to change my mind
